REDIII Credit Mechanism for EV charging infrastructure

REDIII requires Member States to set up a marketplace where charge point operators (CPOs), who provide electricity to EVs through their charging activities, generate and sell credits to other business actors (such as fuel suppliers). This creates an added revenue stream for charge point operators, which they can reinvest in the rollout of charging infrastructure. By taking part in this marketplace, CPOs can reap faster returns on their initial investments. Consequently, the business case for building and operating a public charging station with private investments is strengthened and CPOs are further incentivized to roll-out charging infrastructure across the EU.

RED III Credit Mechanism: How does it work and how to apply it successfully for EV Charging

This webinar the considerations and actions to take into account for an effective set-up and functioning of the national credit mechanisms for EV charging. Correct & timely national implementation is crucial to sustain the private investments in the roll-out of the EV charging infrastructure and help Member States to meet their RED III targets and EV charging infrastructure deployment targets.

RED Credit Mechanism: Carbon Credits for EV Charging

In acknowledgement of the increasing importance of electricity as a transport fuel, the Directive obliges the EU Member States to introduce a mechanism which will allow operators of public recharging points to sell credits for the renewable electricity used to charge electric vehicles to fuel suppliers.

This webinar will walk you through the Renewable Energy Directive itself and through the French, German and Dutch credit mechanisms, how they work in practice and how a charge point operator can take advantage of these mechanisms to optimize their business.
